Kanye West - "Through the Wire"

​Taught this in my hip hop history class the other day. I had completely forgotten how killer that first verse is. Evidence: in class, I played the intro and stopped right before the verse starts, intending to analyze that section before diving into the verse. Stopping before it got really good caused quite a commotion--students shouted, groaned, and even a couple booed.
